Weekendgetaways.co.nz Ltd was established in early 2006 by Trent Hickman and Andrew Cave.

Trent was successful in completing and gaining a Diploma in Travel & Tourism Majoring in Tourism Management and also gained a Bay of Plenty Polytechnic Diploma in Business. Trent’s background includes overseas travel and work for a small, up market, professional inbound tour operator in Tauranga from which he has gained a vast amount of product knowledge in the New Zealand tourism market.

Andrew Cave’s background stems from the outbound travel market. Andrew has a passion for the aviation industry which he keeps himself regularly updated on new products and services. Andrew has also completed a BOP Polytechnic Diploma in Tourism & Travel but Majored in Travel Management. Andrew was the top student for his year in both his Major and overall in the Tourism and Travel Diploma. Soon after graduation of his diploma Andrew was offered a position within the Travel Smart retail chain as a travel consultant selling both international and domestic travel.

At weekendgetaways.co.nz we have a vision that doesn’t just focus on profitability; we aim to share our success with tourism operators, our customers and other small businesses. As an important part of domestic tourism development nationwide we will strive to benchmark quality tourism and provide a service that will benefit tourism on a national front and in turn benefit you the customer.
